Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. A complex, smoky bouquet evokes fresh cherry, cassis, violet and cracked pepper. Sappy, precise and gently sweet on the palate, offering lively dark berry and floral pastille flavors with a salty kick of black olive. The floral note carries through the persistent finish, which features youthfully chewy tannins and a touch of bitter chocolate.

More elegant and streamlined than the meaty, concentrated Billes Noires, the 2012 Cornas Brise Cailloux has a beautiful perfume of peppery herbs, beef blood, crushed rock and sweet dark fruits. Rounded, rich and layered, with serious minerality as well, enjoy this medium to full-bodied, lengthy and beautifully put together Cornas over the coming decade.
Inviting and complex aroma of dark fruit, some oak sweetness but also a savoury meatiness (not brett). Lively and fresh on the finish. A wholesome whole. (JH)
