Tasting notes
75% Pommard clone, 25% MV6, hand-picked, 50% whole bunches, fermented in an open French vat, 14-16 days on skins, usual Yabby Lake French oak maturation (20% new, 11 months). High-toned spicy notes are the cornerstone of a highly expressive and elegant wine, providing a launch pad for the silky, elegant but long and insistent palate. Rolls Royce cellaring.

This has a sense of brooding depth about it and is the most powerful and imposing of the three 2015 single-block releases from Yabby Lake. It has darker cherry and blueberry aromas and some cassis, too. The palate's energetic and really surges in with plenty of fleshy red- and purple-cherry fruits. The tannins wrap and compress before the finish expands upwards. Give this time; best from 2019.
