Tasting notes
Only 422 bottles produced, the 2012 Cloudburst Malbec is deep garnet-purple in color with a meaty / savory nose over layers of broody dark fruits, baking spices, anise, cedar and buttered toast. The palate has gorgeous richness and isn't shy on the firm and grainy tannins, as well as concentration. Just starting to blossom with some nice spicy floral characteristics, it finishes with great depth.

This has slightly brighter colour than its '13 counterpart, and a more lively bouquet and palate; whether this faint emission of mint and herbal adds positive interested to an otherwise serene wine (a la '13) is a moot point. The breathtaking prices of all the Cloudburst wines is another matter. Mar 2015, www.winecompanion.com.au
