Tasting notes
Dark ruby. Intensely perfumed dark berry, cured tobacco, vanilla and floral pastille aromas show fine definition and spicy lift. Supple and open-knit, offering juicy black raspberry, cherry-vanilla and lavender pastille flavors that deliver very good depth and back-end energy. Smooth, bright and seamless on the persistent finish, where the spice and floral notes return.

The 2013 Crianza was produced with Tempranillo grapes from their organically-farmed vineyards in the village of Roa in Ribera del Duero. It fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and matured in oak vats and barriques between nine and 15 months depending on the lot. It has bright red fruit and floral aromas, with an herbal twist, in a Rhône way. It has fine tannins and a polished texture, quite round, approachable and pleasant. The only thing I was expecting was a tad more freshness. But this is a great 2013 and always a sure value. 50,000 bottles produced.
