Tasting notes
A special blend made by proprietress Séverine Bourrier that’s from a mix of the Secret de Schistes, Velours and Infiniment de l’Ou cuvees, the 2015 Igp Côtes Catalanes Ispo Facto is a total blockbuster that’s up with the greatest wines made from the Roussillon. Sporting a deep, inky color as well as full-bodied, ripe, yet pure notes of blackcurrants, Peking duck, spiced meats and licorice, it’s full-bodied, perfectly balanced, concentrated and long. In short, it’s a sensational Roussillon I wish every reader could taste.

A new cuvee made from a blend of all three cuvees and possessing another level of elegance and purity, the 300-case 2015 Côtes Catalanes Ipso Facto checks in as 100% Syrah that spent 15 months in new French oak. Notes of cured meats, iodine, ripe black currants, smoked duck, licorice and chocolate all emerge from the glass. Full-bodied, seamless and ultra-pure, it’s a tour de force from the Roussillon that needs to be tasted to be believed.
