Made of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc from vines more than 50 years old, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Les Tours de Laroque opens with pretty raspberry coulis, black cherries and warm plums scents with underlying fungi, black loam and cracked pepper hints plus a touch of beef drippings. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and fresh, with a firm line of grainy tannins, it delivers a graceful, earthy finish.

From 20% of the production, the 2016 Les Tours de Laroque is a beautifully elegant, silky second wine that has terrific cassis and black raspberries fruits, subtle tobacco and earthy mineral notes as well as a hint of spring flowers. Elegant, medium-bodied, seamless and incredibly silky, it will keep for a decade or more.
Focused and pure aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants with plenty of flowers, such as violets. Full-bodied, firm and velvety with firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink from 2022.
The 2016 Les Tours de Laroque is a pleasant, fruity wine to drink now and over the next handful of years, while the red cherry and plum fruit retains its vinous freshness and juiciness.
