Tasting notes
Dried strawberry, melted licorice, white flowers and a hint of cardamom introduce the 2010 Vacqueyras Réserve, while a touch of white pepper heightens the spice. Full-bodied yet poised, the 2010 never relies solely on power or concentration, instead remaining focused, lithe and finely balanced through to the smooth, energetic finish. This bottle was opened about three hours in advance without decanting, and continued to blossom with air. Though it cannot quite match the grandeur of the 2016 tasted alongside, the 2010 is a brilliant Vacqueyras Réserve from Château des Tours, and a transparent expression of this five-star vintage.

Bright red. Intense, spice-accented aromas of red berries and cherry, with smoke and herb notes gaining strength with air. Darker bitter cherry and black raspberry on the palate, which delivers intense spiciness and very good punch. Closes on a spicy note, with excellent clarity and lingering florality.
About the producer

Domaine des Tours is a separate label to Ch. des Tours, however both ranges are made at the same Vacqueyras property. Part of the Rayas galaxy and made by Emmanuel Reynaud, the wines are a source of great value and offer a glimpse of the Rayas style.
