The 2016 Alto de Cantenac Brown, the estate's white wine, is rich, luscious and inviting. Orange jam, apricot, honey and tropical overtones are front and center, and yet there is just enough aromatic freshness and lift to keep things in balance. This is very nicely done.
The 2016 Alto de Cantenac Brown, the estate's white, is large and ample on the palate, with an almost phenolic feel to its structure. Sauvignon Blanc-driven citrus and floral notes add freshness, but the Alto is far from an easygoing white, as it has considerable depth and palate intensity, not to mention good freshness for the year.
About the producer
Tristan le Lous purchased this Third Growth in 2019, keeping on José Sanfins on as director. There has been significant work in the vineyards here, with a sustainable, organic approach across the 48 hectares.
