Tasting notes
Deeply colored, the 2016 Château de Ricaud is one seriously classy Côtes de Bordeaux. Giving up plenty of spiced cherries, mulberries, and currant fruit, it has subtle spicy oak, medium body, terrific balance, and a rare sense of elegance from this region. It should drink nicely for upwards of a decade.

The 2016 de Ricaud has an intense, fruit-driven, quite burly and forward nose of plush dark cherries and veins of blue fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, and very pure in the mouth, displaying plenty of freshness. I appreciate the precision on the finish, and the volume and graphite aftertaste. Excellent!
The 2016 de Ricaud is plump, juicy and forward, all of which give its considerable immediacy and appeal. Inky blue/purplish berry fruit, spice and licorice add to the wine's supple personality. Drink it over the next few years.
The 2016 De Ricaud is a plump, juicy wine to enjoy in its youth, while the inky fruit remains vibrant. Crème de cassis, blackberry, licorice and dark spices flesh out in this attractive, juicy Bordeaux.
