Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2019
The 2016 Taillefer is a straightforward, easygoing Pomerol endowed with quite a bit of near and medium-term appeal. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, cedar and mint are all nicely lifted. I would prefer to drink this racy, mid-weight Pomerol over the next decade or so.

The medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Taillefer opens with tar and earth over a core of black plums and blackberries with a waft of chargrill. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, it's firm, chewy and earthy with good length.

Very dark crimson. Rich and peppery on the nose. Not the sweetest on the palate but decent. (JR)
