Focused, with a fresh bay note running through the core of plum and black currant fruit. A light charcoal hint shows on the finish. Not dense, but has nice range and cut. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 de la Huste is a little broody to begin, offering subtle baked blackberries, tar and black soil scents with touches of dried herbs and charcuterie. Medium-bodied, the palate gives a good intensity of black fruits and earthy accents with a soft texture and lively finish. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
