A rather crisp and lively Pomerol that has some unresolved tannins. With more effusive red-fruit character, this would rate higher. A blend of 75 per cent merlot and 25 per cent cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes.

The 2016 Bellegrave is a distinctly mid-weight, perfumed Pomerol built on aromatic presence and mid-weight structure. Sweet red berries, wild flowers, mint and blood orange are all given a good bit of freshness from the Cabernet Franc. This is very nicely done.

Pure, clean, refreshing Pomerol in Vieux Château Certan style. Impressively refreshing and concentrated. (JR)
