Tasting notes
The 2016 Rabaud-Promis has a composed, detailed bouquet of lightly honeyed fruit, infused with yellow flowers and quince, that unfurls nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a tang of marmalade on the entry, and waxy in texture, but missing intensity and complexity on a finish that seems to drift away. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Bright gold. Fresh and round and zesty but with true Sauternes character. Good stuff! Barley sugar plus botrytis. (JR)
The 2016 Rabaud-Promis has a pale to medium lemon color and reveals slowly emerging notions of fragrant earth, fungi, melons, baked peaches, cedar and ginger with a waft of paraffin. The palate is rich, concentrated and satiny with bold flavors and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.
