The 2016 Le Sartre is plush, deep and inviting. Crushed rocks, graphite, smoke and bittersweet chocolate infuse a core of super-ripe blue and black fruit. This is in a rich, full-throttle style, but an underpinning of both tannin and minerality gives the wine good energy and drive.
Clean and fresh on the nose. Not complex but adequate. Very dry end. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2020-2025
