Tasting notes
Coming from the team of Michel Rolland, the 2016 Château du Cartillon is a fine Haut-Médoc offering lots of sweet red and black fruits, notes of spice and saddle leather, a charming, layered, lengthy profile, and the class to keep for 10-15 years. The 2016 vintage is a gold mine for high quality, balanced, thoroughly satisfying wines such as this one that will sell for a song yet deliver loads of pleasure.

Another excellent Haut-Médoc that is rich and fleshy, but has lively acidity and a very attractive, minty freshness. The polished tannins give it plenty of drive at the long, mineral finish. Drink or hold.
The 2016 du Cartillon is a bold, juicy wine. Sweet tobacco, herbs, cedar and anise add layers of nuance to this very pretty and expressive Haut-Médoc. The 2016 remains a bit rustic, but pleasantly so.
The 2016 du Cartillon is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with aromas of warm raspberries, kirsch and black berries with spice box, dried herbs and fallen leaves nuances. The medium-bodied palate is chewy with good intensity and an earthy finish.
