Tasting notes
The 2014 Pinot Noir Ceras is a gorgeous, singular wine full of personality and, like the rosé, not easily defined—the aromas and flavors are energetic but ethereal, familiar and unknowable. It has a perfume of fresh rose petal, blood orange peel, ripe raspberries, green tobacco leaf, hints of laurel, fresh strawberries, dusty earth and amaro notions. In the mouth, it's medium-bodied, silky and layered, swelling with nuanced fruits and juicy acidity before finishing precise and very long. Absolutely lovely.

Brilliant red. Vibrant, spice- and mineral-tinged scents of fresh red fruits and spicecake are lifted by a suave floral overtone. Juicy and precise in the mouth, offering gently sweet raspberry, spicecake and rose pastille flavors that deepen on the back half. In an energetic, graceful style, especially for the vintage. Silky tannins frame an impressively long, focused, spice-tinged finish.
A phenomenal wine with such clarity and energy. Vivid. Full-bodied, firm and silky. A sleeping beauty. Density with polish. The salinity to this is so cool and gives it complexity. Glorious. Drink or hold. Nov 2016, www.jamessuckling.com
