Made from the rare Terrantez grape, aged for 36 years in small oak casks. 2,239 75-cl bottles produced. Interesting – an almost yogurty nose. At the start, it's very nutty – almond butter and roasted chestnuts and grilled hazelnuts – and then this absolutely incredible acidity kicks in, like an electric shock! And then the depth and kaleidoscopic complexity of the wine starts to unfold, layer after layer after layer... Dark chocolate. Cherries. Sorrel. Sawdust. Stones and rain on stones. Old pewter glistening in winter frost. Bitter oranges. Deeply mineral. Every mouthful a handful of pebbles, a handful of stories, a trail of spice and crystal-cut prisms. So many stories in every molecule of this wine. (TC)

Light sienna. A more savoury umami character. Some polished wood and walnut skin. Searing acidity. More linear than some, and the acidity gives it a drier finish. Amazing length and precision. (JH)
