Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2028, Neal Martin, Sep 2022
The 2012 Montviel has a light nose, quite tertiary in style, hints of liquorice and white pepper. This is fully mature. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and quite fleshy for a 2012; it's not complex but has a cohesive, lightly spiced finish that lingers. Enjoy this now. Tasted blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.

Not in the Farr tasting. Pale crimson. Light and lively but not very luscious. Even a bit austere! (JR)

Plenty of Pomerol character, with bright berry fruits, a kick of acidity, a hint of creamy fruit and grilled vanilla bud, cocoa bean, raspberry puree. Good quality, ready to drink. Pere Vergé family.
