Looks like a bargain for a grand cru 2015! Smells of crème pâtissière. Good freshness and structure on the palate. There is grand cru depth to this and a really appetising savouriness. Still quite chewy on the end. GV (JR)
Rapet's 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has shut down since bottling, opening in the glass to reveal a reserved bouquet of pear, preserved citrus and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and impressively tensile for the vintage, with good concentration and structure and a long, chalky finish. This is one 2015 white Burgundy which holds promise for the future.
About the producer
Based in Pernand-Vergelesses, the Rapet family has been involved in wine since at least the 18th century. The property owns 20 hectares of vines around and on the hill of Corton. Vincent and Sylvette are at the helm today, with their son Robin now working alongside them.
