Bright light yellow. Ripe but reticent nose shows a smoky quality. Concentrated, rich and sweet but with a slight alcoholic warmth (14%) to its flavors of white peach and citrus fruits. Barnier describes this wine as "a Meursault Charmes with less freshness." It's fatter than that wine but could use a bit more firmness.
The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts was more austere than the Puligny La Garenne on the nose and needed more coaxing before it offered pleasant, if not riveting grass-clipping and granite aromas. The palate is smooth on the entry with spicy citrus fruit, though I discern more mineralité and tension coming through on the La Garenne at this moment. Let's see how it plays out once in bottle.
Tank sample. This seems to have better balance than most Jadot whites (no MLF apparently) with some real freshness as well as luscious fruit. Still lots to chew on, but it has energy. (JR)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
