Just mid crimson. Ripe yet fresh red fruit nose with a hint of oak. Quite tannic and lifted and certainly long, if only light bodied. Intriguing. (WS)

The 2014 Rosso di Montalcino is soft, perfumed and delicate. Sweet red cherry, raspberry and lifted floral notes are given an extra kick of brightness from the high acidity of the vintage. Stylistically, the Rosso tastes more like a Chianti Classico from one of the higher-level appellations than a wine from Montalcino. This is about as good as it gets for Rosso in 2014.
