The 2014 Haut Lagrange has a rather broody and yet still attractive bouquet: blackberry, bilberry, touches of sous-bois and tobacco, all well defined and neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth entry, plenty of tart black cherry and cassis fruit, an energetic Pessac-Leognan with a skip in its step on the finish. I would give this another year in bottle and then it has the substance to drink well for a decade. This comes recommended. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
