Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2020, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016
As to the 2014s, there’s a notable gap in quality between the entry level Les Olivets cuvée and the older vine cuvées. The 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Olivets is charming, forward and finesse driven, with lively notes of kirsch and blackberry fruits, spice and garrigue. It soft and ready to go, so drink it over the coming 3-4 years.

Deep ruby. Dark berries, smoked meat and licorice on the deeply scented nose. In a somewhat wild style, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors sharpened by a suggestion of black pepper. Closes with firm grip and building tannins, leaving a smoky, gamy note behind.
