Tasting notes
Clarisse's 2015 Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, 100% Merlot, offers lovely depth and radiance in its supple red fruit. Drink this juicy, pliant Puisseguin Saint-Émilion over the next 2-3 years. There is lovely aromatic freshness and verve to play off the Merlot fruit.

Another beauty from this vintage is the 2015 Chateau Clarisse Vieilles Vignes which is from the satellite appellation of Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion. Made from 100% Merlot that was brought up in 50% new French oak, it sports a ruby/purple color as well as a fresh, pure, powerful bouquet of red and black currants, toasty oak, spice-box and licorice. This beautiful Saint-Emilion offers medium to full-bodied richness, terrific freshness and purity, a balanced, layered style, and a clean finish. It’s a classy 2015 that has both richness and freshness. It’s going to deliver the goods over the coming decade or more.
This shows real depth and power with so much vine bark, mushroom and currant aromas and flavors. Full and chewy. Excellent. Old vine wine that is truly a dream. Best ever.
A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Soft and round. I think I prefer the regular bottling. This is too exaggerated. (JR)
