The 2015 Fourcas-Dupré has quite a strong tobacco-infused nose with blackberry and briary aromas emerging with time. Fine definition. The palate displays good depth but it is surprisingly short compared to the bottle I tasted just a year ago, hence my lower score. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Astringent and a bit green but serviceable. (JR)

Mid cherry red. Fragrant with both red and black fruit. On the lighter side though elegantly balanced. Plenty of freshness and just enough fruit to fill the fine-boned structure. (JH)

67% Sauvignon Blanc grown on limestone and sandy clay soils, 33% Sémillon grown on clay-limestone mixed with gravel. Fermented and aged in French oak (70% new). At first this seemed quite delicate in aroma but as it warmed up it became more intense, with a gentle herbal note, waxy citrus, wet stones and grapefruit – already quite expressive in the glass. Beautifully crisp and clean-edged. Intense citrus on the mid palate rounded out with the creamy oatmeal effect of the barrels, with just a touch of spice and a long finish, yet the fruit is so pure and vibrant that the oak is held in the background. Already lots of pleasure but will surely become more complex with longer in bottle.  (JH)
