Looks very rich and syrupy. Light nose. Good weight and balance of sweetness and acidity. But the elements are far from married now. Quite edgy and unformed. Could get there eventually. (JR)
The 2015 Château Caillou has a comparatively simple bouquet compared to its peers: clean and correct, if just missing its own "voice." The palate is fresh and vibrant, quite citrus-like on the entry with a seam of orange rind running through the honeyed finish. It perhaps just needs a little more length, but otherwise this should be a worthy addition to the Sauternes 2015s.
Bright and balanced Sauternes with dried apple, honey and mango character. Medium to full body, medium sweet and a crisp finish. Mar 2016, www.JamesSuckling.com
