Tasting notes
Tasted blind. Mid garnet and the colour is not that intense. Light impression on the nose – surprisingly so! Then very luscious on the palate with a slightly inky, Cab Franc-ish ingredient. Well mannered, even rather diffident. Good presence in the mouth. Still some tannin and good length. Glossy. (JR)

The 2015 Angélus has a ripe and generous bouquet with black cherry, espresso, dark chocolate and peppermint aromas, but it doesn't have the precision of the best Right Bank wines. The palate is very plush and forward, with velvety tannins and hints of chocolate chips infusing the red fruit. It's another 2015 that inches toward Napa in style on the finish. This has just a bit of heat, but it's seductive and I believe time will temper its flamboyant personality. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.
Tasted blind. Deep crimson. Fresher than some with a fragrance – Cabernet? Hint of butteriness and lots of alcohol and pleasure even if hardly any tannin left. Hot finish. An early developer? (JR)
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Angélus is a little closed to begin, soon blossoming into a wonderfully fragrant perfume of raspberry preserves, ripe black plums and chocolate-covered cherries with suggestions of Darjeeling tea, candied violets, spice cake and cinnamon stick with a touch of aniseed. Full-bodied, the palate is fabulously opulent, delivering mouth-coating black and red fruit layers with loads of floral sparkles and a seductively velvety texture, finishing with great length and tension.
