Score 89/100 · Drink 2016-2020, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016

Looking first at the white, the 2011 IGP Cotes Catalanes Le Soula Blanc is based on Macabeu, Sauvignon, Grenache Blanc and Chardonnay (there’s also some Malvoisie and Vermentino in there), and sees 21 months in a mix of tank and demi-muids. It offers a juicy, lively and slightly exotic style to go with ample citrus blossom, brioche, toasted bread, spice and hints of minerality. Medium-bodied, clean, with good acidity and a dry finish, it’s a classy wine to drink over the coming 3-4 years.
