Tasting notes
The 2012 Barbaresco Bernardot is slightly less intense compared to the 2013 vintage of the same wine, but it shows similar sophistication. The bouquet focuses on elegant and carefully finessed aromas of wild berry, cola and balsam herb. There are smoky tones of mineral and tar as well. You could make an argument for drinking the wine now, but it's better to hold onto this bottle for a few more years.

The 2012 Barbaresco Bernardot is soft, open-knit and also surprisingly gracious for this site. Sweet red cherry, spice, mint, orange peel and licorice all meld together in an open-knit, resonant Barbaresco endowed with grace and textural finesse. The 2012 is quite open today, but it also has enough depth to drink well for a number of years. This is very nicely done for the vintage.
