Tasting notes
Picked pretty early picked on September 11/12th, the golden-yellow colored 2014 Gewurztraminer Turckheim blends the Turckheim valley floor grapes with all the Herrenweg grapes since no Old Vines Herrenweg has been produced in 2014. The wine is very clear and also mineral on the nose, indicating ripe and spicy fruit and mineral aromas in a very elegant, balanced way. Full-bodied, round and elegant on the palate, with a nice piquancy and the vital acidity of six grams per liter (pH 3.5), this is a very delicate and finessed Gewurztraminer with a ripe and vinous fruit, as well as really fine tannins. 14.15% alcohol plus four grams per liter of residual sugar.
