Tasting notes
From a vineyard of 70-year-old vines, just behind Le Montrachet. Water white. Lots of edge and green fruitiness. Much to chew on. Rather dry chalky end. (JR)

(from a south-facing parcel): Pale, bright yellow. Anise and crushed stone on the nose. Supple and easygoing, but kept fresh and firm by lime leaf and a suggestion of limestone. This will earn a higher score if the nose brightens up a bit. Finishes with good mineral firmness.
The sloping bit of Remilly. Subtle and very mineral on the nose. Lots of stony crunchiness. Not rich but very fine. (JR)
About the producer

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
