(the yield here was a very low 25 hectoliters per hectare owing to hail; no new oak): Inviting high-pitched scents of orange juice, white flowers, ginger and gunflint. Fine-grained and sharply delineated, saturating the palate with youthful flavors of soft citrus fruits, spices and stone. Impeccably balanced but backward today. A lovely essence of Meursault, and an outstanding village wine.

Lightly spiced on the nose, more so on the palate. Much more arrow-like than Les Clousots. Crisp, tightly furled and long. (JH)

The 2014 Meursault Cuvée Tête de Murger has a complex bouquet with lime flower, wax resin and citrus fruit that has plenty of energy. The palate is very well balanced with a keen line of acidity, a surfeit of citrus fruit offset by quince and apricot notes, segueing into a playful and tensile finish that is pure delight. This is a superb Tête de Murger from Javiller that exceeded my expectations.

Bright, pale yellow. Pure, nuanced nose offers scents of white peach, ginger and white flowers. This very concentrated Meursault leads with its fruit but strong acidity is currently limiting its mid-palate complexity. Finishes stony, sappy and long. Javillier made just half of a normal crop here. This wine should reward bottle aging.
