Hard to describe with the richness and intensity on the nose, yet there\'s so much minerality. Full body, great fruit and tangy acidity that finishes with caramel and mineral flavors. Goes on for so long. Drink in 2019.

Classic Charmes aromas of soft citrus fruits, lemon, hazelnut and vanillin oak. Pliant and round, with nicely integrated lemony acidity giving shape to the middle palate and drawing out the brisk finish. Made from three parcels, the largest of them in Charmes du Haut.

The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru les Charmes has a clean and precise bouquet, one that is tightly wound at the moment, nicely focused, but could benefit from more intensity and terroir expression. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity. I like the edginess here, the subtle lemongrass note that becomes more accentuated towards the finish, even if it does not quite achieve the complexity of some of the best Meursault Charmes in 2014. Still, this is recommended.

Creamy and a touch spicy on the nose. Deep and so rich it almost tastes off dry but it is not. Fabulous combination of intensity and pure freshness and great length. (JH)
