Showing more fruit and density than I found in previous vintages, Cissac’s 2012 from proprietor Vialard is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. Avoiding some of the austerity that this vintage can possess, this wine exhibits good minerality, a dense ruby/purple color, some cassis, and surprising depth and ripeness, Drink it over the next 10+ years.

Fruity and ripe – modern, but tempered with classic Bordelais savouriness, and something I once heard described as ninja tannins (they sneak up on you). Very palatable – savoury, dry and structured. (RH)
