The 2011 Collina dalla Valle might even be better than the 2010. Plums, spices, violets, menthol, licorice and lavender jump from the glass in a powerful, vibrant wine loaded. with pure class and personality. The 2011 is a bit more tannic and darker than the 2010, with striking aromatics, vibrant fruit and great expression of site. The tannins are going to require a year or two to soften, but there is no denying how absolutely gorgeous the 2011 is. If there is any problem with the 2011, it is that it might be too good.

Dalla Valle Vineyards was founded in 1986 by Naoko and her late husband Gustav Dalla Valle, in Oakville. Initially they had wanted to create a luxury resort, but when they discovered the potential of the site, they changed tack and decided to make wine.
