Tasting notes
More concentrated, tight and focused than the 2014, the 2013 Crozes Hermitage Clos des Grives offers lots of minerality to go with classic black raspberry, blueberry, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. It’s good today, but will be even better in another year or three.

(raised in used barriques for a year): Opaque ruby. Pungent aromas of dark fruits, licorice, violet and smoky minerals. Densely packed, gently sweet and penetrating, showing very good lift and vivacity to the smoky cassis, cherry and spicecake flavors. Finishes smoky and long, the supple tannins gaining strength with air. This wine benefits quite a bit from decanting.
As with their basic Crozes, this has superb fragrance and perfume on the nose. Incredibly aromatic! A shining beacon of Syrah flavour, with excellent length and concentration. Very, very impressive – stands out among its peers. GV (RH)
