Tasting notes
Tasted blind. Glowing crimson. More black pepper than most with a hint of leather. Bone-dry finish and quite marked natural acidity makes me think this is probably the Jaboulet. (I was wrong; I gave Jaboulet the benefit of the doubt!) Lip-smacking appetite stimulant. Vibrant finish. Long. Something a tad medicinal about this. (JR)

Impenetrable crimson. Purer and a more complex than the 2011 and a big step up from 2009! Blueberry and hints of black olive. Supple and appetising and really dry on the palate. (WS)
Ash on the nose. And lots of acidity and a bit of tannin on the finish. Not quite enough fruit in the middle to knit it all together. A bit spiky and spindly. And hot on the finish. (JR)
As good as the Duemani is, the 2010 Syrah Suisassi may be even better. A bevy of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, licorice, violets and plums emerge from the glass in this richly resonant, highly expressive wine. The 2010 Syrah captivates all the senses, both intellectual and hedonistic. This is a brilliant effort from Luca D'Attoma and Elena Celli.
