Tasting notes
The 2014 Cantegril has a very light, slightly earthy bouquet that needs more botrytis-affected fruit. This feels a little lean. The palate is better with a viscous opening, peach and mango to the fore with a simple, balanced finish. This Sauternes is for early drinking only – I just wish the aromatics were better. Tasted in Bordeaux.

The Château Cantegril 2014 has a slightly rustic bouquet with dried honey and beeswax scents that show a little disjointed at this early stage. The palate has a touch of lime cordial and Clementine on the entry, but it needs more weight on the mid-palate and more concentration on the finish. More presence and conviction, please.
Denis Dubourdieu. Pale greenish gold. Round and pure in pear-juice style. Just lovely combo of freshness and sweetness. Not heavy but great tension and balance. Lightly grilled finish. (JR)
