The 2014 de Myrat has a lifted bouquet with simple scents of dried honey and white flowers, perhaps missing the botrytis element of its peers. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, but it is not a complex Sauternes and it runs out of ideas towards the finish. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

RS 118 g/l. Tasted blind. Deep gold. Smells a bit simple. Raw acidity. Does not marry with the sweetness. (JR)

The 2014 de Myrat is an attractive Barsac laced with apricot jam, spice, honey, chamomile and baked apples, all in a mid-weight style that will drink well early. The aromatics could use a little more focus, but otherwise the 2014 is very nicely done.
