The 2014 Beauregard has a meaty, slightly Bretty nose that lacks freshness and delineation. The palate is simple and balanced, with slightly drying tannins and a simple, leathery finish. This is on the downward slope. Tasted non-blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

The 2014 Beauregard has a light blackberry and briary scented bouquet with a touch of smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a little firm in the mouth and short on the finish. At least there is decent freshness here, albeit a straightforward Pomerol at the end of the day. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Very fresh, perfumed nose. Round and very fruity. Nice and complete. Very neat and focused. (JR)

The 2014 Beauregard has a conservative bouquet with light cigar box scents merging with red berry fruit and just a touch of cola. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin. I appreciate the purity here, a "tart" Pomerol happy in its own skin with a savory note towards the finish. Enjoy this competent, if not extraordinary 2014 over the next ten years.
