Tasting notes
The 2013 Volnay Santenots 1er Cru has a direct bouquet that plugs directly into the senses: cold stone with cranberry leaf and strawberry that just seems too vivacious at this prenatal stage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine salinity on the entry and crisp acidity. This is a finely structured Volnay Santenots with a gentle build to a vibrant, transparent finish. This is one of Mounir's finest contributions in 2013.

Healthy medium red. Reticent but pure aromas of red berries and crushed rock. Juicy, spicy and fresh, conveying lovely inner-mouth tension and cut to the red fruit and mineral flavors. Not a fat style but not dry either. A solid spine of fresh acidity and dusty tannins shapes and carries the broad, slowly building finish. This will need time in bottle to unwind.
