Tasting notes
Subtle, heady and very flattering. Already round and rich with spine but you could drink this already. Lift and sprightly initially but with the true undertow of the vineyard. VGV (JR)

Cask sample. Tastes much cleaner than the previous sample, which tasted a little bretty (as did the sample I tasted at Jeroboams, so there may be a problem). It's very firm and embryonic but the tannins are refined and fine grained. Pretty obdurate, nevertheless. (JH)
The 2013 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a sensual bouquet in the making with ample ripe black cherries and blueberry on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with clearly a lot of toasty new oak that dominates the back end. It needs more fruit to be able to support this, which is why I will defer judgement until the Grand Cru is in bottle.
