Score 92/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2013

The 2011 Madremia comes from a single parcel of 35-year-old, Tinto de Toro bush vines and is aged for nine months in American oak. It offers a ripe, opulent bouquet of honeyed black fruits that is controlled and focused. The palate is well-defined, the oak beautifully integrated with fine tannins and superb focus. Fresh and lively in the mouth, this is a classy Toro red that deserves to find representation in the United States as soon as possible (the domestic price is 15 euros per bottle - what a steal!) The San Jose family owns a bar in Toro and previously produced the -Abracadabra- label in another winery, since they do not possess their own. No known US importer.
