Reviewed last year, the 2012 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes Blanc didn’t disappoint this go-round. It’s a blockbuster white that will have two decades of longevity. Citrus blossom, pineapple, orange blossom and big minerality all emerge from the glass and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, stunning purity and blockbuster length. I love it.
Green-tinged yellow. Fresh pear and orange on the intensely perfumed nose, with ginger, honeysuckle and smoky mineral notes adding lift. Spicy, penetrating and pure, offering vibrant orchard and citrus fruit flavors and suggestions of fresh fig and bitter quinine. Shows impressive vivacity on the finish, with the orange and smoke notes repeating.
