Tasting notes
Tertiary aromas laden with mahogany, toasted chestnut, varnish and umami, like dried porcini rolled in coffee grind. A forceful thrust of fruit and parry of impeccably hewn tannins. An impressive wine that is as hedonistic as it is intellectual. The style is contextually dry, powerful and layered. Drink or hold.

Zenato's 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Sergio Zenato is deeply intriguing. Truffles, tobacco, orange peel and incense all lend exotic dimensions of nuance and complexity. Impossibly young the 2007 is going to require at least a few years in bottle, but it will always remain an opulent wine built on texture and volume. All the elements fall into place in a striking wine endowed with gorgeous purity and depth. This is a fabulous showing from Zenato.
The 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Sergio Zenato takes a long and hard look at Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. This is a stunning wine with an oversized mouthfeel and unforgettable intensity. The bouquet pulls back to reveal black cherry, barbecue smoke, dried chocolate mocha, dark vanilla and spicy cinnamon cake. You definitely feel the thrust and the power of the alcohol, but the 2007 vintage delivers the rich extract and tannin to withstand it. Drink 2014-2024. Located on the shores of Lake Garda, Zenato is one of the most historic and important wine identities in northern Italy. Over the years, the Zenato family has played an essential role in shaping the current denomination guidelines used in the production of Valpolicella wines. The estate delivers steady consistency with a few standout wines from the stellar 2007 vintage that are on the market now. Importer: Winebow, www.winebow.com
