Inky ruby. High-pitched, spice-tinged aromas of red berries and cherry-cola, with a hint of smokiness emerging slowly. Fresh and tightly focused on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering juicy red and dark berry flavors with a touch of candied licorice. Silky tannins come up slowly, adding shape to the long, spicy finish.

(includes 10% viognier): Bright purple. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of blueberry and cherry compote, with a peppery nuance in the background. Juicy and precise, showing good lift and cut to its fresh dark berry flavors, as well as a refreshingly bitter edge. Closes spicy and long, with sneaky tannins adding grip.
