Tasting notes
Pale crimson. Rather low-key nose. A little muddy in its impact. Stewed fruit? Something a bit medicinal. Cuts off a bit suddenly. (JR)

Serralunga d’Alba. Powerful, minerally nose but clearly not open yet. The palate shows the same reluctance but the sweet fruit and muscular tannins are beautifully balanced. Such elegance! (WS)
Rose petals, mint, licorice, pine and sweet spices all lift from the glass in the 2010 Barolo Cerretta. Expressive aromatics meld into precise, crystalline fruit in a Barolo built on energy, tension and power. Clean veins of saline minerality support the finish. The 2010 can be enjoyed today for its pure fruit or cellared for up to a decade, perhaps longer. Just as brilliant from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2010 Cerretta is one of the best wines I have ever tasted from Davide Rosso.
The 2010 Barolo Cerretta is ample and broad on the palate. Round, supple and gracious, the 2010 impresses for its pure texture and impeccable balance. It looks to be a fairly approachable, open 2010 Barolo with plenty of near and medium term appeal.
