Magnum. Rich and fresh and round. Though with enormous sweetness. Lovely completeness. Very clean and bright. Long and complete. Very scented. Lifted and fresh. This was served with the much more expensive Lupicaia 2001 but it was the Tassiniaia I wanted to drink. (JR)

All of these 2001 wines are excellent, starting with the 2001 Tassinaia, a Bordeaux blend and theoretically the “second” wine of the house. The black currant and blackberry fruit, the sweetness of the notes of Mediterranean herbs and minerals, and the sizeable, well sustained palate, however, make this anything but a second choice for consumers.
