Tasting notes
Produced from 75% Pinot Noir and the remainder Chardonnay, the NV Champagne Cuvée Prestige Brut is 75% from the 2017 vintage and fleshed out with reserve wine. The nose is powerful, assertive, and pure, with ripe kirsch, wet rock, hay, and fresh bread. The palate is concentrated and full of energy, and I think is a wonderfully assertive style. There is structure and depth, with orange peel, and a bit of mushroom. Drink over the next 10-15 years. This is a lot of wine for the money.

Disgorged in January 2018, Goutorbe's NV Brut Premier Cru Cuvée Prestige offers up a generous, fruit-driven bouquet of honeyed orchard fruit, peaches and oatmeal, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate with ripe acids, a succulent core of ripe, sun-kissed fruit and a youthfully frothy mousse. It makes for a precocious introduction to the range.
The H Goutorbe Cuvée Prestige Premier Cru Brut (Lot L83118) is very round and fruity Champagne based on 70% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 5% Meunier; it has lots of ripe peach flavors. I find it pretty sweet and fruity today, though the finish reveals a nice purity, freshness and finesse.
