Soapy, lifted cassis. Simple, fruity but still very Margaux.

Mid crimson. A bit dusty and diffuse on the nose and very dry on the end. Correct rather than thrilling. Still lots of tannins. (JR)

Stewed fruit – autumnal and appealing. Rounded, medium body, drying tannins, moderate length. Quite straightforward flavour with a chewy, traditional structure. (RH)
About the producer

Rauzan Gassies
The Quié family purchased Pauillac Fifth Growth Ch. Croizet-Bages in 1942, adding Rauzan-Gassies four years later. Once part of the same estate as the neighbouring Rauzan-Ségla, this Margaux property was split off in time for the 1855 Classification, earning Second Growth status.
